2019-P-5c-WDDR-015-Lines-In-The-Door

Sometimes the lines-in-the-door WDDR series has many potential matches. Due to the pair of lines, I feel pretty confident that this is BVC listing: 2019-P 5c WDDR-015.

The hornet's nest on the left side of the building is slightly more progressed on this nickel. I might try to match the more subtle markers later, and also get a decent image of the die chip/crack to see if we can determine sequence and maybe die state.

Thanks, guys. =)

Looks like it is the same die as Variety Vista 2019-P 5c VDDR-015. Definitely not the same coin, the one on VV has a bang right on the top middle door frame. Also a different submitter, Robert Umbarger (VV) vs. Brian Sims (BVC/Wexler).

I was able to take some quick magnified images tonight, and then match them to the WDDR-015 markers. The two die dots were right where they were supposed to be, although they are rather tiny. The hornets nest die crack has advanced from the WDDR entry. The crack worked all the way through the bottom curved part of the depression. The larger curved depression edge on the top is more visible, and is getting ready to flake off that entire area between the crack edge and the building wall.

Quite interesting to have a more advanced die state of the same coin, and to know that they were certainly struck from the same die at the Philadelphia mint.

Awesome find Brandmeister, the markers look pretty solid. There's still a lot fun stuff to find in modern nickels. I think my ddo/ DDR stops at 2014. I think I need to get some bank rolls and join in on the fun. There's even 2023.
