This 1982 no mint Lincoln Penny considered to be a large date and made of 98% copper. Am I correct? Thank you for your time. *** Edited by Staff to clarify the topic title. Please put as much info in the title as you can, they are very important. ***

some feedback, " no mint" is a newbie misnumia term, your photos are so large they run off the display making evaluation difficult, for copper vs zinc on a 1982 we need to know the coin's weight

Emmaloue, no mint mark refers to a coin minted at the Philadelphia mint. Your coin is a large date (LD) and it looks copper, but you need to weigh it to be sure. 2.5 grams +/- .10 grams mint tolerance for a copper plated coin and 3.11 +/- .10 grams for a copper coin. John1

Don't forget about the " no mint mark" cents minted at West Point from 1974 to 1986.

What's the weight? If it's 2.5 grams, it's zinc. If 3.1 grams, it's copper.

Quote: How do you distinguishe them from the Philly ones? Good question... had me wondering also. I found this info on PCGS: "...There is absolutely no known die diagnostic that conclusively distinguishes 1974 Philadelphia Lincoln Cents apart from those made at the West Point Mint. However, West Point continued striking Lincoln Cents without a "W" mint mark until 1986..." https://www.pcgs.com/news/what-was-...-w-mint-coin
