https://www.ebay.ca/itm/225839441849I've actually never seen an ICCS body bagged coin before, which is neat. However, they added 'error' to the card and now the seller has it up on ebay as a flip strike.

I don't understand. It looks like a vise job (reversed lettering) then stood on edge and hit with a hammer.

That's what it is. Time to get busy in my garage and submit a bunch to ICCS.

What little respect I had for ICCS has now evaporated.

Am I the only one who sees the Bluenose sailing the wrong way. The dime impression is screaming hammer/vise job.

I asked the seller to remove the listing hours ago and they replied in a hostile way. They said I didn't know what I was talking about and I should grow up.Lol. I reported the listing to ebay.

Well, that was quick. Listing is gone.
Frankly, these "bodybag flips" are too easily fraudulently listed as graded. Apart from the lack of an actual grade and the little "Rtnd" code, everything else on the flip implies it's a "genuine error". They should not be using either of those words, "genuine" or "error", on a shed job.

I spoke with Scott Cornwall about this one. He told me that the flip was not sealed and only the coin itself was "genuine".
Scott and I discussed at length the issues around this practice, and how some folks will do anything to make a buck. He agreed not to "bodybag" error submissions (which he does not do) with an ICCS certificate.

So if you flip it and strike it then you can sell it on ebay as a "flip strike"?
