Deliberately defaced? Or just picked up along the way? To me it looks intentional but maybe you wouldn't agree? I sold this coin sometime back having written it off as a pocket piece. Mistake? I was reminded of this coin with Westcoin's welcome explanation (in my previous post) of what actually constitutes a "detail" in coins.

Even w/ the damage.... I would have kept it considering it is a C.C. How much did you sell for?

Whether that scratch is deliberate or accidental, it's more than normal circulation wear and tear, so I'd say it's definitely a details coin.
