Hi, any chance anyone knows what the "scanning reject" notation means on this coin? I can't find any examples elsewhere. Many thanks!

That's something I would pay $5 out of the blue for!! Maybe more.
Perhaps they use a digital ap to tell them what the coin is and where it is from? Their ap rejected your coin....

I don't understand why someone would send a common nickel dollar in to be graded. The cost to send, grade and return is, or would, be much more than the coin would ever be worth.

I think they go crazy at ICCS. Their label make no sense. First scanning reject which mean not genuine, then it is genuine?.

I know the value of coin do no cover the fees but with this kind of certification they has to pay damages.

Ok, this is obviously an error made by the person holdering the coins. A bulk lot were sent in with multiple coins where the submitter had pregraded coins and then only wanted the coins at least MS65 holdered and they would pay a reduced price for quick scan for coins which don't make the grade. This one should have been returned sans holder. It's a keeper! $15 bid
lol
