I turned on the inside light in my vehicle to see better.....opened my hand, and carefully peered closely at the coins....
I know that pain. Not sure how many times I thought I had a new 2008 only to find a 2007 or earlier! Now I have the 2009 coins to worry about. It may be a long time before I see one of those!

got two today, no mint mark, also got a District of Columbia quarter and a Haiwaii quarter same change. At the grocery store of all places.

Is it better to pull them out of circulation and toss them in 2x2s or order from the mint?

I stopped by the bank today to deposit my check, and get my four rolls of pennies (cents). As usual, I can't wait so I open em up in the car. Got a couple of good rolls, high % of copper, then I started noticing shiny ones. Got 5 or 6 nice 2008s, a few very nice 1993s. As I was checking a batch of shinies, 2008, 2008, 2008, 2009, 200- Whoa! It took me a second to realize it. Turned it over and sure enough, a log cabin from Denver.

But wait! It gets better. I went over to my friends house, who is anti-coin, and showed him. He said he had some of those. I demanded he show me. I had to dig through a baggie full of cents, but I found two log cabins from...(drumroll)...Philly! I hardly ever even find 2008 Phillies. What a fun day.

Cool.

I hate my Whitman folder now. It was just fine until the last page. I went to put my new ones in it and they won't fit. I mean I could make it fit, but not without fingerprints, smears, cuts, gashes... Tomorrow I'm going to see if my coin dealer has a Dansco for 1959-200+ Last I checked, he only had 1909-1958, which I have, and he had 1909-200+.

Good luck everyone!

I have been pulling my coins from circulation for over thirty years now. It is what I like to do, but to each their own. The answer to your question depends on what makes you happy!

I haven't seen any new '09 cents yet, but actually saw my first DC quarter from the change at a laundromat in Brooklyn (on vacation up here for the week). I'm with Jim and acidic, I won't see them until sometime between a few months from now and 2013.
