"The possibilities of finding a Log Cabin in circulation" (ahem): Today, I have found my third Log Cabin Cent from circulation! In the same period of time that it has taken me to find three Log Cabin Cents from circulation, I have found from circulation sixteen common-date Wheat Cents, a 1988 $1 star note, a nice album-toned BU 1954-S Nickel, an F-15 1940-S Nickel, and four (that's right, four!) Silver Dimes (1947, 1955, 1962-D, and 1964-D).

The Log Cabin 'mania' has spilled over into my workplace. Two of our employees so far have each found a single 2009-D Log Cabin Cent from circulation. Several other employees are on the lookout for Log Cabin Cents for themselves. Our corporate account with Wells Fargo has not been much help. It's pretty ironic when an employee goes into Wells Fargo and shows them all the coins that they don't have (showing off his Native American dollar and Puerto Rico Quarter that he got from me, as well as the Log Cabin Cent that he found). Naturally, the employees looking for these Cents have asked me why no one can seem to find them. I tell them some reasons why, and that I can barely find any myself (and I don't dare to even mention the existence of the LP1 set at work!).

Quote: Our corporate account with Wells Fargo has not been much help I don't think any of the WFs have new coins... the local local local one I go to says that they haven't gotten any new coins since Jan... ... and with that note, I'd like to say of the possible 2009 coins currently in circ, I have not gotten any DC quarters, PR quarters or Log Cabin pennies. The Sacs and Harrisons were especially ordered. And now I wonder... is the slowdown in circulation caused by the slowing economy?

I have been finding a lot of the 2009 Log Cabin cents. I have at least 12 of them, and my brother found 27 of them while roll hunting! One of the rolls had 6 of them! I cant seem to find any Philidelphia pennies.

I think eaglefoot mentioned in another thread that even if you could get a log cabin from both mints, at least one of them would probably be in bad shape. Well, I'm in East Texas and this is usually the case. I get Denvers pretty quick and in good shape, but Phillies take a while and are usually worse. Well, I guess I got lucky this year: Image: 2009obv1.jpg100.54 KB Image: 2009obv2.jpg97.73 KB Image: 2009Prev1.jpg93.28 KB Image: 2009Prev2.jpg95.83 KB I wouldn't call them BU, but very nice AU at least.

...... Lucky is the appropiate word here !..... And yes you certainly did !.....NICE !.... But I believe it has been mentioned that several states where "known release states"....and Texas was one state mentioned. So, you have a step up on the rest of us in getting "both" Mints in decent shape ! Sweet though !....

I received 2 in change today. Both look like they just came out of the roll but the clerk said no more in the drawer, he got them from a customer.

I got another one, Denver, in a roll yesterday. That makes a total of four. I had asked a very nice teller at one of my banks if she had/could get any of them. She said she would try. Tonight I saw her while I was at work. She said the mint was out and they couldn't order any, but she would look for them and hold any she finds for me. I told you she was a nice lady. :)

Ok, I finally found my first one in circulation..... well sort of. I found one in the "take a penny - leave a penny" cup at the DQ. So I took one and left two. Let's not go there, this has been discussed at length on this board. Anyway, my first one.

At this stage, I think any of us on this board would gladly 'take' a Log Cabin Cent out of a 'take a penny - leave a penny' cup and replace it with another Cent (or two). Way to go, The_Duke! If Wells Fargo called and said "we got a box of Log Cabin pennies", I'd go right over and buy them!

I finally got 8 rolls this morning. I got 4 at two different branches, but at the same bank. They only got a few in, so they limited them to their customers. All were P's.
