Hello! I'm wondering about this bombay hook DDO. I'm having a bit of trouble identifying it. I originally thought it was either WDDO-003 because of the die crack through the initials, but theres no chip on the J and the crack looks slightly different. Also, no die chips on the bird. Second thought was WDDO-009 but again, slightly different and no indication of die chips on the bird. It doesn't seem to match any other listings, but clearly has 2 extra blades of grass on the middle patch and extra grass underneath the top patch. Second thing, are the initials doubled? Looks like it to me but not sure if that's a thing. Please help, thanks!

To CCF! Definitely a DDR. Might be unlisted, if you can find a match or an earlier die stage.

To me, that didn't entirely look like 003 or 009, nor the other current listings. Given the more than 60+ catalogued, it seems fair to say that this might be a new listing.

009 did mention a bust die crack, but gave no reference image. An absence of particular markers could just be an earlier die state, unless you have concluded that your coin represents a later die state.

BRAND, You know that I appreciate you much. What surprise me to you it is you apply the modern coins errors and varieties to the recent coins.

Let see how was:
Period 1: Classic coins : End penny in 909, Quarters in 1932 and etc. I can give all the years.
Period 2: Modern coins which all end in mid 1999
Period 3: Recent coins.

So each period are characteristic by the ways the coins, the planchets was done. From August 1999 new presses (horisontal), CNC use for designs, new technology of clading and plating, new ways to produce the rolls of planchets, and I can enumerate more.

Now, the plating and the cladding fall in the same category of cover an surface with other material (science is clear on this - metalurgical compedium) Starting with this we can see that if plating has blisters, also cladding has. On the recent coins, is no difference on the design because the CNC follow an patern with no deviations. Till now the Mint never adjust the Design. What will be in the future we will see.

Conclusion: Those DDR's or DDO's on VV I doubt to be legitim for this period. On sigle squeeze? same as Double squeese? We must be really bornet on old thinking to commute.

Sorry my friend, I want to share this with you for your studies. I am not the only one thinking as I short describe.

@ Brandmeister: Please PM me and I have something for you. You are the guru Nickels for me here.

The conclusion for me it is that we can re-wrote the notions of the DD's according with the new ways to produce the Working Hubs and Dies.
