Picked this one off
ebay and just got my hands on it. Quite colorful. The
DDO is a pretty strong class VI, especially on the date, and is listed as stage D in VV. The marker for stage D is pre
Cud 47R (on cuds-on-coins.com), but VV lists it as "
Cud 22."
This
DDO is interesting in that for die stage B it has a reverse pre
Cud on the left wheat (RCD-1C-1940S-21R), then the reverse is changed for stage C with no
Cuds, then stage D picks up this one also on the left wheat. Sometimes die stage changes are pretty minor changes, but for this one they are all big ones.
I sent these images to JC as this appears to both be a slightly earlier die stage for the pre
Cud than the one on cuds-on-coins, as well as for the potential addition of a die marker photo and the
DDO date image.
