Hey all,
Looking this one over, appears to be a railroad rim maybe? Can't see any other errors, but maybe the mm being a RPM? Thanks all

It's more than likely been encased.

A railroad rim will show on the obverse or reverse of the coin, along the rim. I believe only reeded coins can have a railroad rim, because the collar impression leaves teeth marks that look like a railroad on a map. I don't know what it's called on smooth rim coins.

Encased. More than likely, in a bezel at some point. If the OP were to roll the coin around, looking at the edge, they will likely find a fatter, more raised portion, where the bezel comes together and is tightened.

Oh, I wasn't disputing your diagnosis. This coin definitely looks like it was encased.

I was just saying that this coin is almost certainly not a railroad rim caused by a collar clash. Because 1. the rim side isn't where the collar clash would be most visible, and 2. you really need a reeded collar to produce a classic railroad rim.

railroad rim what a nonsense name given by someone who probably has no knowleadge of coins lexicon.

This coin IMHO is a clear pre-encased coin. Point

Thanks all. Wish I knew a lot more than I do. Feel like a fool posting and not knowing.

You will never learn if you do not ask questions. As to possible RPM,what attribution number do you think it might be?
