Scored this today. More than likely cleaned. Didn't pay much for it. Is it still worth anything cleaned? Also there seems to be some stuck through error rim to rim of the reverse

I'll say AU details, poorly cleaned.

I agree with Coinfrog .... AU-55/58 details. While the obverse hairlines are a bit distracting, this 1870-S is still a most pleasing type coin; and, one that's easily worth $150+. I would also note there's an extended die crack at 7-8 o'clock on the reverse periphery.

Some folks would never consider a cleaned coin. Personally I have no problem with a cleaned coin showing this much detail for the right price. As a general rule I usually take into consideration the grade of the details and look up the value. Then I cut that value in half for a "details- cleaned" coin. Others may have a different approach.

The reverse might be showing a Die Crack or a die polishing line.

If I "didn't pay much" for that coin I'd be glad I bought it.

AU-55 details, cleaned. Still a decent coin to put in a type set album.
