Poll Question
https://www.costco.ca/-1-oz-gold-co...0227224.htmlJust wondering if Costco has ever sold RCM products before ? I received an email from them and they're offering a 1 oz. $50 gold coin for $2799 and I can't see the mintage. Not sure what to make of it ?

Kinda sounds like what Walmart does, they are a third-party seller. Be careful. John1

Yeah, I highly doubt that Costco is the actual seller.

Quote: Terms & Conditions: Item cannot be returned or refunded That doesn't sound like Costco to me. I thought they would take anything back.

Google Cosco Gold Coin and you will get a listing of their gold offerings: 1 oz Gold Bar PAMP Suisse Lady Fortuna Veriscan 1 oz Gold Coin Limited Edition 2023 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz 2023 Royal Canadian Mint Gold Bar (New In Assay) From CBC Radio site: "Costco now sells gold bars. Are they a good investment? Wholesaler is offering one-ounce gold bars for $2,679.99 a piece." Personally, I wouldn't take this opportunity.

A few things to consider:
1. Costco is not in the business of selling fake merchandise.
2. The price of the coin in question is based on the spot price of gold. Most outlets do not accept returns on bullion items that are directly based on spot prices - too much volatility in the market and savvy customers could try to manipulate their transactions. (Not to mention those who would try to return a worthless counterfeit piece.)
3. The price asked seems to be in line with the minor premiums added to current bullion pricing.
I don't think there is significant risk.

The CBC radio article was dated October 3. Since then the price of gold has jumped $100+. The current spot price is $2717. But you can't buy nor sell at spot price. The current BUY price of gold at bullion dealers is over $2800 as of Nov.17. If you buy from Costco you can get credit card cashback + Costco Executive 2%. So you are discounted 3-4% off $2800, you are paying aroiund $2700. No where in Canada can you buy gold for $2700.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered my first GML - the 2023 1oz GML from Costco. $2840 CDN, no tax, no shipping, and less whatever cash-back I get on the card. Not a bad deal IMHO, and at a better price than I could find at any of the other bullion dealers. I just hope it's not all minted, packaged, and printed in China Gotta love how they shipped it though. Packed in bubble-wrap And then rolled and packed into the UPS box Really fast shipping - I ordered Wednesday, and it arrived today (Friday).
