Hi,
I have a current series $50 polymer note that is at least 1/4" longer than any other notes. Is this something I should keep or is it insignificant. thanks in advance for your input. I'm a newbie to bills and appreciate the input!

The actual length of a Canadian poly is 6 inch I believe, so the shorter note appears to be trimmed, just compare the longer note to another poly. Polly errors are seldom seen due to every note is lasered for quality control

The comparison note is consistent with all the other notes I have, the longer one sticks out in the stack, so I know the comparison note is not trimmed. I will find a way to more accurately measure the note to get an exact length. I recognize the tape Measure was not the best choice. but it was all I had last night. Thanks everyone!

Here is the problem with this minor misscut, visually one can not see the difference easily so you need it to be graded and noted on the label probably 40 bucks or so at BCS or CCCS with all the shipping costs fees. At right sale maybe 100 to 150 bucks, this sheet most likely shifted during it"s batch of getting sliced and diced, kinda cool great you noticed sometimes at sales you only need two bidders good luck !

John100 gets to the heart of the dilemma. Its a minor miss-cut but the extent of the error is quite minor & the question you have to ask yourself is whether "it is dramatic enough & in good enough condition to keep?" A TPG holder stating it is an error would help but the grade would be low (& certification is costly). Probably not worth it. And then it is a $50. Like special # a lot of collectors prefer lower denominations & in better condition (plus more dramatic errors).
If you like it & can afford to set aside the $50- keep it.

I received a lot of 40 various 1967 dollars. They were bundled and taped in plastic film. One was bent over at the top and right side. I was kind of miffed at the seller's packaging. When I unwrapped them I discovered the damaged note was actually about 4mm longer and wider than the rest. It's a keeper for sure. I've never seen this before. How uncommon are oversize notes? What was it worth before it was bent? I paid $55 for the lot so even if I take the other 39 to the bank I'm happy with what I paid for this unique (to me) dollar. I'm kind of curious as to why there is no trace of either adjacent note.

If the note shows part of next note or a border note showing the colour bars could be something special, need a pic
