Very interesting. I do take issue, however, with the sub-headline "The Eisenhower dollar Marked the Return of the Silver Dollar". Circulation strikes contained no silver and collector issues only contained 40% silver.
I'd say many people think of the Ike dollar as a silver dollar simply because it's as big and heavy as its predecessors.
