There's a extra date of 1943 stamped on the rim of this nickel. Has anyone seen a nickel like this before? Just wanted to know if I should take this to someone or throw it in the coin jar. Any information about this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Don't feel bad coin79 I have my own issues with getting that perfect shot. Some of us aren't set up for success when it comes to coin photos. Practice practice

Much better picture. Looks like a vise job with a 1943 dated coin. That's why the digits are mirrored. On the back of your coin, in the damaged area, there might be marks from the vice or whatever it was pressed against.

Edit: the other coin was almost certainly a nickel, because the star adjacent to the date is visible.

this is damage - note how the date is backwards - this means that another nickel was crushed against this one.
