Hello
I recently aquired this 1991 Gold Kuwait Liberation coin. It is in it's original issue box and is Mint unissued contion. Do these have much collector interest, or is it just worth it's weight in Gold?
Thank you

I don't know how popular it would be as a collectible but bullion value alone is worth $1000+. Here is a link for one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/276026103474

It is collectable to those that collect gold commemorative coins. Not sure how many people do so price would depend on how strong the market is. Worst case it has gold bullion value.

Here is the most recent sale I could find (two lots sold at the same price in that auction):
https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?lot...lot&sid=6506

I guess the coin is made to contain about 1/2 ounce of gold (please check my math), and gold was trading at about $1850 on the sale date.

With the GBP at about $1.20 at the time and (I am guessing) a 20% auction premium, that buyer paid the equivalent of $1370 to get the coin. So it looks like there is some premium above bullion.
