I don't think the coin has that much wear and I have a second one very similar to that. At first I thought it was the bronze one until I read it's supposed to be heavier not lighter.lol Could wear account for that much difference? Are there fake ones out there?

@ Double J Yes, there are a number of 1858 & 1858 counterfeit coins. There are many experts on theses coins in this forum. I am not one, so will await their input.

Since 1 pound equals 453.8 grams, the weight is correct taking a little off for wear. They made the 58's and '59's so that 100 equaled a pound and 12 laid side by side was a foot. It looks real, not fake
