Does anybody know the mintages of the 2023 dated coins with Charles III? My LCS thinks that the numbers will be low due to only starting in mid-November.

Firstly, it's way too soon to know the mintage. You have to wait until the RCM's 2023 annual report is published. Then, we might have an idea.

Secondly, you would be amazed by how many circulation coins can be minted per minute/per hour by the (new) machines.

I doubt the RCM will ever really tell us.

The RCM has been doing this convoluted thing of showing mintages that are anything but specific;
I believe mintages published (and I could be wrong here) are for coins minted or distributed during the calendar year - not year shown on the coin.
This means that "2023" coins could have a stamped year from one or more prior.

As another example, I would wager the 'black' toonie has a LOT higher mintage than most people realize;
These were still being minted when I was at the Winnipeg mint in late summer 2023 - I can just about guarantee that those will be included in the "2023" mintages.

Sorry to be so cynical.

Correct. The number of coins minted during the year (Jan. 1 till Dec. 31) are reported. Not the year shown on the coins. The RCM used to publish these figures but sadly stopped doing so a couple of years ago.
