1971-S-Kennedy-Half-Unlisted-S/S?
Ran across this coin on ebay. Is this an S/S, proof doubling, or just an optical illusion of the highly polished field? I checked VV and Wexler, nothing listed for an S/S east that resembles this one.

Hard to know for sure based on this one pic, but my money is on doubling from glare.

I have it bookmarked. If I order stuff from that guy and have free combined shipping, for $3 I might consider getting a closer look.

Edit: Or not. In looking at the PCGS image lineup, this year had a really blobby and uneven S. It might have a touch of Machine Doubling or have been hammered slightly crooked. Probably not worth the experiment. The coin isn't otherwise a keeper, it looks uniformly hazy.

Most coin photography on ebay is terrible. But if you want to cherry-pick, you can't exactly ask people to take zoomed-in photos of features that obviously correspond to Fivaz-Stanton listings or other valuable varieties.
