Hello, is this a normal thing on coins? Just learning things and haven't really learned teen errors yet and google seems to be random on this specific topic. Also I would assume it's a MS-62? Would I be correct or what would you grade it given the lower quality pics.

Front: Looks great aside from a weird scratch. I say it's weird because I literally JUST took it out of a mint pack which doesn't have a scratch and the cut seems just a tad dirty but it could have been damaged before packaging? I'm not sure if that's a possibility but that's all I can come up with without the plastic having at least a small mark on the Kennedy slot.

Back: All I can see wrong is the edge marks and the minor thing top of eagles shield

Edge in pic #1 is what I believe is a normal edge for a/this coin

Edge pic #2-#3 looks weird and "reeds" do not fully connect to the end but does have the end effect I.e ends in an angled point point

Are you sure you didn't damage it when you freed it from the mint pack? Did you drop it or anything?

No I could always see the scratch in the bad I just assumed it was on the bag till I took the coin out. It looks as if the edges of the scratch are perfect and not smooth as you would see on one where if wore out over time. This coin was 100% damaged in the pack with no noticeable damage on the pack itself. But I'm not sure how these things are packaged because I do have others in other packs that have much minor but noticeable scratches under a scope. This was is far more severe though.

The edge looks normal to me. It looks like the coin was dropped, presumably while it was inside the mint pack, and hit something sharp. Unfortunately, the plastic didn't protect it and now you're left with a details coin.

That's what I thought but there's no scratch on the bag and there's no physical way under any laws of physics that it got scratched inside the bag without it being a scratch or hole in the back lol. I want to believe it happened in the 2.3aec from when I opened and put it down for a pic but my fingernails ain't that long lol. The reason I took it out was because it was scratched and the only damage on the pack is where the letters indented inside the plastic.

At first I assumed (you can see in the pic) the middle line was a gouge but it was just a crease where the pack bent another way. Here are as close as I can get but when you move the pack it changes like a crease not a scratch. And I thought about it getting cut when I was opening but it couldn't get cut in that's rea from where I opened.

Edge looks normal. It's a bummer about that scratch.
