Very nice, jbuck.
Thank you. I am glad I got him bringing change into the house again! The wife and I seldom use cash.

Still have only found two 2024's.

The new coins are not showing up here like they did last year.
It has been over four years since I have been able to see things on the regular.

I don't doubt that for a minute, jbuck. People have always used plastic but I'm seeing a lot of people using cell phone apps because it's easier than swiping a card and typing in a four digit pin number.

I use my phone most of the time. "Tap to pay" saw greater adoption around here during the pandemic. Almost all the gas pumps have it now and many restaurants will bring a portable reader to the table.

Another thing starting to take off around here is a QR code instead of a printed physical menu. Open up a mobile menu, order and pay right from your phone. I am on the fence, but it seems to help at really busy venues.

My kids regularly call me old school because I don't adapt to change very well. Out of habit I use cash twice as often as I use plastic.

I can understand that. I work in tech, so this kind of change is easy for me to adopt.

I tend to use tech just enough to help with the things I'm into.
I was 33 when cell phones came out and 43 when the internet went public. So, I remember very well what the world was like before high tech.

Nice finds, @jbuck! I am still searching change for all of the 2024 quarters issued so far, and the year is half over....

Got this one today which brings my total up to seven cents and four dimes. That's not much considering that I receive change five or six times a week.

Last year I found 21 quarters. Now, with the year half over I haven't found one yet.

My prediction that could be completely off-base or right on the money (no pun intended): my first 2024 coin will be a penny, found on March 23 around noon, on the sidewalk outside my local Walgreens. Let's see if I'm right.

I was way off; it was June 13 around 3:30 PM, next to a vending machine at the library. Kind of surprising, given that I found my first 2023 coins in March and I deal with at least as much change now as I did then. At least I've now found two 2024 cents as of this writing.

In a bag of loose change my parents gave me, I found a couple of 2024-D Nickels, my first new nickels for this year.

All I need is a 2024 Cent.
