Quote: Well it finally happened. I did not receive one 2024 dated nickel or dime this year. Quote: This is the first time that I can remember it happening in recent memory. Quote: I will not be spending any more cash this year so I will not get any. Quote: But I did receive a 2024D one cent coin today in change.. Excellent!

I can confirm that I or no one I know here in Grand County, Colorado have seen any 2024 coins as of today. I checked friends, the bank & grocery store. First time for me as well, not seeing a current model year coin in circulation.

I finally received my first two 2024 coins from circulation. Took nearly 12 full months and I had to travel all the way to Delaware to get them (granted, I have not been spending cash on hardly anything in the past couple years). 2 Women Quarters received from a boardwalk arcade change machine: 2024-D Murray 2024-P Mink On a side note, I must have been living under a rock as I just now discovered that the program only runs through 2025. I had incorrectly assumed that it was a 10- or 11-year program like the Statehood and ATB programs.

I am starting to see 2024-D cents in change here in Metro Detroit. Occasionally see the quarters.
Still no nickels or dimes.

According to what I've read online the US Mint was scheduled to produce 14.4 billion coins for circulation in 2024. But in the first six months they had only struck 2.66 billion. The mint produced 486 million coins for circulation in September but they were all cents and quarters with no nickels or dimes. I'm wondering how many of those coins were shipped and how many are still on the shelves.

Quote: That is very interesting, Tacc. Strange thing is that I am only 40 miles or so from the Denver Mint, as the crow flies (if a crow could fly over the 14,000 ft high continental divide). I see a ton of 2023 coins here, just no 2024's yet. I dunno
