Just came across this in a few pounds of wheaties I bought from Rob Finds Treasure.

Besides the fact that I obviously need to work on the name, do you think this is an error or damage?

If it's an error, is it just due to die filling?

Also, if it is an error, any ideas for snappy names for it, like "Skeletor Lincoln", "Michael Jackson Lincoln", etc?

Thanks,
Mike

Not an error - just PMD. You can see how Abe's nose and chin were sheared and the metal push inward.
As for the date, probably the same thing the remnants of the 9 are visible. It could have been someone playing with a chisel.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I agree, just damage. PMD. The nose took a hit and pushed the metal to the left.

This occurred when Abe was hanging his coat on the hook... tripped and fell...
