Hmmmm, these don't look like steelies and they should be.

Poor photography, or possibly plated BadThad?
That would be quite a trick to PS a copper color onto steelies, as that involves multiple colors.
I bet they stick to a magnet.

The description says "steel" so it is just poor photography. No where does the seller claim these are copper - it's a legit auction.

The description also said "red BU" ? How is it a legitimate auction if steel cents are pictured as red?

I don't see anywhere the word "red" is used. Perhaps I'm missing it.

I think they mean "cherry" as in gorgeous, new, perfect shape, etc. not meant as the color. Just my opinion. They certainly look nicer than any of the ones I have!

Ok I sent him a note and this is the reply: "They are Zink over steel. If they look copper it's the photo."

Yep I read that in the 'questions' 'These coins are original zink over steel war pennies. If they look copper color it's the photo.' What's zink? I think he means 'zinc'

take a pic of a steel cent with a red background and see how it comes out. I just tried it with generic macro settings and it does give them a copper appearance. Interesting.
Rest in Peace

I think it's part of the recently discovered hoard of 5,000,000 1943 copper cents.
