If someone's feeling generous, I accept coin "donations"...

If the $200,000 current bid does not make any sense to you just wait until the final bid. Easily a $400,000+ coin IMO. Any other guesses out there ?

An amazing rarity. If this was a common Morgan, I wouldn't see it getting a 65 from these photos...

This one is 63CAC and I think it is undergraded instead of overgraded which is what we usually see in rarities. I think it is a nice 64 but photos could be presenting it better than what it is in hand.

About 100,000 of these were minted. Not really "rare".

Perhaps not truly rare, but certainly scarce, especially in that condition - the vast majority of 1893-S Morgans are circulated. It still has the lowest mintage of any Morgan business strike.

You mean "rare" in the sense of condition rarity, not absolute rarity.

Mintage figures are unreliable because so many morgans were melted by the government as silver was in a glut after the Comstock lode was found in Nevada. 7,734 have been graded by PCGS and 3,371 have been graded by NGC for a total of 11,105 coins or 11.1% of minted coins in all grades. Given the value even in low grades, most are thought to be in TPG holders. But if we look at uncirculated coins only, 37 have been graded by PCGS and 30 have been graded by NGC for a total of 67 coins or 0.60% of the 11,105 coins in TPG holders or 0.06% of the total coins minted. Given the popularity of the Morgan dollar series among collectors, an uncirculated 1893-S Morgan is not only rare, it is also in overwhelming demand, which explains the lofty price.

A g-4 coin of this issue in a straight graded TPG holder will run you about $3,300.
