Not sure if this is ok or not but if not, just let me know and I'll delete this post. So instead of making a new post every time I find something new I decided to just only use one post. If anyone in here also hunt bank straps, they can also post here too! & My latest find 1/8/24: Took out around 100x $1 notes from the ATM and they were new notes that were mostly in sequential order with a few missing here and there but I noticed that some notes has a Gas pump error. Mostly with the 3, 7 and 8 numbers. [/url]

Nice find Vince.
I noticed Vince's new-found horde on a different forum earlier this morning. I've never seen so many in one place. I value them at $3-$4 each because they're more or less conversation starters.

Quote: but I noticed that some notes has a Gas pump error I'm a learning novice when it comes to note errors. Please define a 'gas pump error'? Thanks! Edit: I can see in your photo the final digit in the serial number is vertically misaligned with the others - so that must be the gas pump error. But how does it get this name?

From what I read and heard from others back when I started collecting notes is that the numbers look like the odometer from the gas pump when pumping gas. :)

Exactly. Back in the day, before digital gas pumps, the numbers of the total rolled as you pumped. Sometimes you would let go of the trigger and the final digit would get halfway around for the total. Then you would make small, quick squeezes on the trigger to line it up.

Thank you both for the explanation - and yes Steve I have enough gray hear to remember those manual gas pump readouts!
