The cent looked MS-redhot , but I knew there were going to be problems when I saw a half-moon under the leaves. It was a sign of a violent clash from an ear . There was another sign; a small crack from the stem joined the 3 and 4, then weakly headed to the leaf.

Then cracks formed between the leaf lobes, as well as from the tips to the rim. Others cut across the left leaf, and alien metal oozed all around the leaves' edges....

... ..... I observed the obverse for adverse reverse clash-damage , and it was devastating. Double cracks at the bottom and top ...

Cracks through the hair, eyebrow, cheek, omg, they were all over the head .

1943-Cent---Dies-Are-Doomed

Long cracks from the legend pierced the nose and forehead. Could it get any worse ?

and it did !

(WARNING -Star Trek reference coming)

KHAN ! WHAT DID YOU PUT IN CHEKOV'S EAR ?!!!!!!!

NIcks say
MS-62 to me.

Reasonably well struck, perhaps a little too much die pressure led to this.

The die?
Die die die !

The coin is destined for a long life in the hands of collectors, for generations to come.
- This is the die's legacy to us.

All the steel in 1943 was being used for tanks and weapons and armor plate. The dregs of the steel was captured by the mint to make dies.
