I've just recently learned this 1943/2 s penny existed after trying to figure out why my example looked weird to me. Upon closer inspection, I believe this to be that doubled die/over mint mark coin. You can still see the 2 that was changed to a 3. The coin I'm referring to is listed as Fs101 in the Cherry Pickers Guide. This has got to be that coin!!?

Please post a link. Your coin looks like a re-plated coin.

This is not the 1943/2

On to the next coin

I think I see what you're seeing mssintiger.

I assume the OP is talking about what "appears" to be a faint "2" (approximately the same height as the "4") positioned between the "4" and the "3" of the date.

@mssintiger, if I am correct in my assumption:
1- that faint "2" is Pareidolia
2- it's probably due to re-plating as John1 stated
3- that is not what the 1943/2 looks like, just look at the pictures on the link you provided and read the article
4- to get better help here, better quality pictures are adviseable as coinfrog stated

I agree with all that the coin you posted is not 1943/2 FS101... and wouldn't be able to tell, even if it was, from the pics you provided.

Keep searching and good luck!
