I was looking through some coins and came across this one (2016 P Washington quarter - Shawnee - America the Beautiful Series) that has a scar that appears to be under the Illinois text. Like it was damaged and the pressing of the text happened on top of it? Have not seen anything like it before and was wondering if anyone else has. Thoughts on it being anything significant?

Updated - included the coin in question.

Please tell us what the date and mint is so I can add it to the title.
Looks like a hit. Remember those are incuse letters.

The word Illinois is incuse on this coin.
What you see is on top of it. This is just a circulation hit

This happens a lot, it is a scratch that will look like it is under the letters but since the letters are incused (dips inward) the scratch does not dip into it.
