Today was the first show of the year and the turnout was surprisingly good for what can be a slow this time of year. This monthly show takes place in a little legion hall on the second Sunday of the month. There are the regular Ottawa dealers, and always out-of-towners who recognize just how good this under-the-radar show is. We had two dealers from Boucherville and one from Montreal today, and we often get a trio from Peterborough, though they couldn't make it this time. To boot, a couple of young dealers from Toronto and Quebec City made the trip as visitors.
The crowd is diverse, from kids to those who've been around the block, and the dealers cater to that wide range of ages, price ranges, and interests. My tastes tend to be kind of particular, and I always find something to pick up that interests me. As a dealer, I have to give a shout-out to Joe, who runs the show. His advertising is great, he is always there to help, and he even makes sure to provide everyone with coffee, donuts, lunch, dessert, and soft drinks, all for less than he could be charging.
All to say, if you haven't made a trip to visit Ottawa lately, plan on coming in for the second Sunday of the month. It's a good time with great people. Edited by NumisCat 01/14/2024 8:41 pm
