I have a 1889 morgan $1 that was graded by numismatic certification institute back in 04/29/1985. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it and what it might be worth? I attached a picture of the coin and the photo grade.

Here's what I found.
Quote:
n the early 1980's Ivy and Jim Harpin merged their talents to form Heritage Rare Coin Galleries, Today Haritage [sic] Auctions. Heritage launched its own grading service. Numismatic Certification Institute. After PCGS got going NCI was closed down. This company was took to court due to the holder's and label's similarities with Heritage's slabs, but references to this are no longer available.
Also this thread seems to confirm most of it. http://goccf.com/t/8472
This "disclaimer" also confirms the connection with Heritage.
