Authentication is important, but to me only the $1 coin has any concern about authenticity. Since he's not selling them, valuation is at the bottom of the list. Not everyone is in this hobby for the money. I brought up conservation because particularly with this coin's spots and green tint in some areas, you'd want that nullified/alleviated before sequestering in plastic, if possible. Granted, it probably hasn't changed much for decades.
