Found another spot to do some MDing. Found remnants of an abandoned structure (chimney still stands) but too overgrown. Still, some yard was still workable so I dug in.
After about 3 hours of searching, had several jar lids, soda/beer cans and pull tabs, 2 Lincoln Memorial cents and another mystery item. A Google image search, however, helped ID it as a similar passenger car door latch, pricing for $89 - $111. Doubt I can sell it, though.
So here's the disappointing part of today. On the way home, I stopped at a farmer's house to ask for permission to search their fields. The conversation was very polite, but I got a firm NO. Seems some other detectors had been on his property without permission. That ruined it for the rest of us.
As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, I research the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping available on the Internet. So I'm well aware of property boundaries and, thus, personal space. I wish others would do the same.
