Hi everyone. I'm new here and have a question about my quarter. I've had it since the early 2000's. Showed some guy at the local flea market selling coins and he said it wasn't nothing that someone can achieve the wear from just rubbing their fingers on it. But anyway not sure if it's from normal wear or some issue in the stamping process. The edge is very ridgid though.

nice Greaser & on the reverse @ 2-3 o'clock, possibly it might have a collar clash. Nice coin but for future references, its always best to hold them on the edge/reeding.

To CCF! It was Struck Through Grease. For future references, either hold your coins wearing gloves or hold them by the edge only. Fingerprints will get on the coin and won't go away, unless you soak it in pure acetone right away, when they're fresh.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Greatly appreciated. And I'll surely start using gloves and pick up some holders. I have acetone at work I can use to clean before placing in a holder.
