I was at the coin shop the other day and seen one of these I was able to pick it up for regular bu price. Things worked out and I was able to go back and pick up 9 more for a couple bucks more a piece(I just bought the rest of the tube) the dealer didn't bother to actually check them at all. It was kinda neat I didn't need a loupe to see the doubling. The doubling is easiest to see on 1 ONZA. Now to get them slabbed and sell them off. I just figured I'd share I don't usually ever have good luck finding things so this was cool. It's a pcgs recognized variety and the coins are all original and havent been messed with big score in my book.

That is a pretty cool pick-up @deca. I've tried to enlarge and enhance the doubled area, but a close-up pic from you would probably do a better job:

Excellent, Decaf94drew! Can you provide a close-up of the doubling?

Very nice score with the double die, congrats. Officially the Mexico mint says the obverse is the eagle side but collectors and PCGS usually call winged female the obverse.

I have a few silver and gold Libertads, one is double die that's graded. See below.

The double die can look different since there are two varieties. NGC calls them #1 and #2. I'm not certain but I think PCGS designates them as 803505.65 and 803505.67. There is also a double die on some 1987 Libertad.

On your example the double die can be seen on the whole left side of the 1, same as pics on PCGS.

I think it's odd personally that the reverse has the main focal point I don't like the fact they call the portrait the reverse but that's just my opinion here are some close ups. I'm almost thinking it's a TDR? Trippling shows on the right side of the U of PLATA PURA. what are your guys thoughts?

Looks flat and shelf-like to me. Not my area but thinking MD or high bounce MD? I will wait for the pros though.

Absolutely not Machine Doubling period legitimate known variety. I only pointed out the U because I thought it was neat. however if you look you can see the doubling on 1 ONZA is outside normal device sizes. I put a side by side up (photos for side by side hastily done but still usuable). Those devices are different sizes. I'm sure enough on my find based off pcgs photos of their variety and my own knowledge. I'll pay to get these graded my mind is set.

My opinion yours are DD, they look exactly like the PCGS double die pics I linked to in my prior post. I edited my earlier post to state there are two varieties of the 1982 double die. Mine is the other variety.

If you don't like PCGS naming the reverse as obverse, send them to NGC, they don't do that.

If PCGS got it wrong, then NGC got it wrong too because they also recognize them as double die, not going there LOL.

Since it is a known doubled die by NGC and PCGS,you could save a little and send it to ANACS
