I would not be able to ID the middle east counterfeits from the 60s. The good news is that they were real gold.

Coin is not genuine. Can't say I'm surprised. I beleive the dealer will be true to their word and accepts return. Can't contact them until tomorrow though...

Thanks for the update. Not surprising but it would sure fool me. Did the dealer check the composition?

Yeah, I haven't checked myself, but I'm quite confident the composition is correct. They are well established UK bullion dealers. I'm sure they checked the compostion is at least close to correct.
