I'm new to coin collecting and noted that some 1972 half dollars were missing the artists initials (FG) on the back. I see the G but not the F. Is this an error and does it increase the value of the coin? Also, any hints on producing better pics? I'm using and iPhone 14pro for pics.

I believe I still see a trace of the "F". There is a known error with absolutely no FG at all.
It is caused by an over-polished die.

Ric24,

Not an error,as mentioned it is an over polished die issue with no added value.
As to better pics, you can buy a clip-on magnifier.
