Before I get chided, I know this coin is face value only, especially since I poked around on it and generally abused it, I saw these very small areas that looked relief. Can strike-throughs be that tiny? What caused these tiny reliefs on the obverse of this coin? I used someone's idea of aluminum foil rubbing to check, and it worked.

Chided? I don't think so. You consistently get accurate and helpful advice on this forum.

example: Your coin shown above looks to have plating bubbles.

Thanks, Tacc. Could it also be just an area of zinc rot? After giving it some thought, I guess that could also present as a relief area as well, yes?

Yes pretty much they are tied together. The bubbles are indeed caused by zinc rot.

Agreed, zinc rot. It's a spender.
