There's that Bucket-O-64's again. Would Halloween be a good time to stop at your house Bobby?

CCChase, here is the link to the PCGS page on SMS 1964 Lincoln Cents. Photo from that page of PCGS SP68RD.

Thanks for posting that PCGS Image Hondo. AS you can see, there are no polishing lines on the PCGS example, yours do. That in itself would preclude it from being an SMS issue coin.

That article though left out some facts. Like all known examples to this day were certified at the time of Eva Adams death. Not a single 1964 SMS coin has shown up in the wild. Any denomination.

I would have to disagree, there are die scratches all over the three top examples that PCGS shows. Not strong die scratches, like the OP's but they are definitely there.

Here are some closeup pics of one of the PCGS examples. There are even die scratches on the devices.

The die scratches or polishing lines on the real 64SMS coins are nowhere near as big or deep as OPs coin. That's what we're getting at.

As I too stated above. I do not think the OP has an SMS coin, just showing that there are multiple die scratches, nothing more....

Sometimes my comprehension is a bit slower than my typing, and I type slow.

I forget that Dearborn has cataracts, the SMS coin probably looks near perfect to him. When are you getting that surgery, John?

Who said that?

I get another exam in April to see if it has progressed enough to clear it up properly.

...and just to be clear - I was intending to emphasize that the OP's was all kinds of scratched up and not PCGS's example.

Dearborn, I got my new eyes just weeks before the pandemic lockdown in 2020 at age 57. I didn't realize how much of my vision I had lost - especially colors - until afterwards. But don't worry about the surgery - it's a snap.

There ya go, Hondo said there's nothing to it! Let me know how it goes, I think I have an early onset of this. Night driving is horrid and it's almost like there is a grey haze all the time, even in daytime....
