I have a 1964 LMC that appears to have indicating factors of the SMS, I understand finding one is nearly impossible however still believe in the possibility. The reason I believe so is because the suggested mintage being 15-30 is an off the record guess and the actual mintage is recorded as unknown by CoinFacts developed by PCGS.

I have some images that are not edited and hopefully clear enough to see the details.

I have more images, can only post two for now. I am sorry if this topic bothers anyone. I am new to this Community and don't know what Poll Answers mean but is required so I'm about to guess it.

To CCF! I'm just seeing a normal Lincoln Memorial cent with die polishing lines. Definitely not SMS.

Looks like a normal cent. Your chance of finding a SMS in circulation is nil. If I remember right, all of the known ones are accounted for.

I was also wondering why there are identical polished lines behind 96 in 1964 on these three.

to the CCF and as everyone will tell you, it's not posable to find one in the wild. They've ALL been accounted for.

They have not all been accounted for otherwise I wouldn't be here. I don't understand why folks are saying that considering the mintage is unknown, if all were accounted for then there would then be a definitive number that isn't (xx-xx).

The Die Polishing lines you see on the 3 coins are from the same die that was polished at some point and used to strike your 3 coins and likely many, many more.

CCChase... If you feel you have a legit '64 SMS coin, consider sending it to a reputable 3rd party grading/assessment service. If you do, please let us know the outcome. Thanks.

A SMS cent would not have any big die polishing lines like yours. There would be no need for them seeing that the dies struck less than 50 coins. This question is probably in the top 10 questions we get here. It's been 60 years since the coin was minted. In all that time not one has been found in the wild. The coins in your pictures are just uncirculated 64s. They are very common. You can still get rolls and even bags of uncirculated 64s.

No one even knew about them until they were all found in Eva Adams estate (mint director in the 60s) around 1990. All of them (All denominations) were certified by Stacks Bowers.

You have about a .00000000000001% chance of finding any 1964 SMS coins in the wild. Your coin is not one.

I have a bucket of BU all 1964s like yours I give away to kids.
