Eternityroad New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 02/23/2024 11:01 pm Hi, My name is Ken and I live in Las Vegas. A little about why I am here. First off, I am not a collector. I found 3 U.S. coins when going through my dad's things after he passed. After a preliminary search online I discovered that these coins MAY be of some value. But as one not versed in coin values I thought I would find a forum where I could get specific info before I even try a coin dealer. Someone had advised me not to go to a brick and mortar coin dealer without having my ducks in order and knowing something of the coins I am bringing in. That said: 1. Is this the proper site for my purpose? 2. Which sub-forum would I post in? 3. Guidelines for posting pics of the coins? I will be looking to sell the coins if they are of good value, but that is down the road. I want to take this one step at a time. Thanks for you your advice. Ken Report this Post to the Staff

Very knowledgeable people here (not me, for the most part), and we will gladly assist you - for free! It's a good idea to get information about the coins you inherited before going to a local coin shop (LCS). There is a tutorial on posting images - see the link below. You can take really good pictures with a cell phone using Earle42's set-up . The bottle cap and ring light are not essential.
