I have one of these in PCGS MS64, and when I picked this one it just didn't look as nice. I pegged it at MS63. Well once again PCGS surprises with a grade, and at least this time it was higher rather than lower than expected. Came in at MS65.

Had to look this one up on VV since the doubling doesn't jump out at us.
"Medium spread on FIVE CENTS, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and dots."
To me, the dots show it best.

Was this one a pick or attributed?
Either way, congrats on the pickup.

I agree that it doesn't really jump out where the separation lines are on CENTS, but pretty easy to see on UNITED STATES and the first dot. Would have done close ups but time challenged right now. And this one was a pick from ebay. I don't look at many Buffalo nickels but every once in a while I take a look to see what is up there and I know enough of the major varieties to spot some of the better ones if the images are decent.

Thanks folks! It's always nice when PCGS surprises you in a good way. I find that so many coins on ebay have been cleaned or are otherwise unsuitable for grading, that when a pick comes in nice and PCGS agrees it's overall just a happy kind of day.
