This 1829 Capped Liberty is not the best but it is the best I have. What grade would the community place on this one? Should I slab it?

This is VG10 and likely to grade straight. As such it is a $300 coin and is likely your best candidate for slabbing. The large diameter quarters are always in demand for type sets.

Btw, this is the so-called "Large 0" date variety, but no need to pay extra for the attribution as it can easily be seen looking at the coin and there is no difference in price for the two varieties.

obv closer to VG8 rev VG10 for sure. it could go VG10 (large 0 as stated by NS)

if the coin graded VG10 straight maybe $250-300 coin. if it details then $100-150. its a crap shoot for slabbing since if it doesn't come back straight fees+ship+ins could chew up half the value of the coin. I wouldnt send it in.

i always state 2 reasons to slab a coin. most collectors in the know don't waste their $$ slabbing unless its a rarer bird.

1. its a rare coin and needs preserved
2. you are planning on selling the coin and the cost to slab it are no more than 20% of the coins value. you can figure if its your first time you would need a subscription like to PCGS for $69 plus slabbing costs of about $22 then shipping and ins both ways.

I would not slab this, it will not add to the value here. Buy more coins with the money you were going to spend on slabbing.
