Came across a batch of super clean 80's & 90's
I believe this is a small date? no mint mark. 3.1g
Is the D mark important or the weight for collecting?

Your cent does appear to be a small date, the D mint mark does matter depending on if the Cent is zinc or copper, weight does matter as 1982 was a transitional year as the mint was switching from zinc plated copper to copper plated zinc.

That's a nice Small Date cent. Although the valuable one is the 1982 D Small Date copper cent. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...t-discovered

agreed, this is a small date Philadelphia minted copper cent. Very common, while yours is in great shape - the big one everyone is out looking for is the Denver minted small date copper cent.
