This one PMD but how? I don't see anything that looks as it was grooved out. I can find every PMD let me tell ya. Looks as Lincoln is trying to escape from the penny

John I do Have a question. The Satin Finish are they closer to a proof coin as far as mirror look? I have the penny hunters book and all it states is a shine or luster. Any ideas or a better way to tell the difference? I've looked online and still can't comprehend the color I'm looking for.

Here is the image they show, I've tried to include a example of the 2005 I have. But more I look at it it looks like a BS. Any Advice much apricated.

thanks

Littlemg2, you should start a new thread with this question about Satin Finish. But as far as I know, it's not about color so much as microscopic texture of the coin surfaces. Your 2005 LMC appears to be a business strike.

Littlemg2,
Go to ebay and look at slabbed satin vs MS cents of the same year.

A good start would be to know that proof coin only come from San Francisco, so if it has no mint mark or a D it won't be a proof.

I have to agree with John1 . It certainly has the appearance of a coin that was deliberately heated.
