1966 Canadian 5 Cent Coin Error - Coin Community Forum

LorelieLee New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 02/27/2024 09:31 am I found this coin at the bottom of my mothers closet after she passed away in 2022. There were 2 coins that have been there for over 20 years. One is a 1966 Canadian 5 cent coin and the other is a 1976 New Zealand 2 cent coin. The 1966 Canadian 5 cent coin is clearly flawed, toned, and is some sort of error on both sides. I am not familiar with Canadian currency enough to analyze or decipher exactly what is off/wrong in detail and was hoping someone can assist me in recognizing what exactly could have happened. okiecoiner Pillar of the Community Canada 5585 Posts	Posted 02/27/2024 11:16 am Yes, someone smacked or put the top coin in a vice or under a hammer to impress the CE into the coin. Physical damage to the other on the rim. Both are spenders. Report this Post to the Staff
