This mm looks rpm to me. Yes ? No ? If not , what would cause the out of square D looking pattern ? Just curious. Kinda different looking. Thanks for sharing your brains.

Not an RPM,but I forget what it is called.It has something to do with the plating.

I suspect that's caused by split plating associated with the mint mark. Coin is struck, plating is split, and the zinc core becomes exposed, which eventually leads to zinc rot. Not uncommon in 1980s-1990s zinc core cents. In this case, it appears some circulation wear has further 'shaped' the mint mark.
