Following up on the good feedback and comments, I retook the photos of the coin with stronger light (and opening up the case to show the whole coin - that's what you'll see in the background as I kept the coin in there so I didn't touch it). Appreciate any revised thoughts on the possible grade as well as how the photos worked. Thanks!   |

Those are very good photos  . The coin does appear to be in about the mid MS-63 to low MS-64. |

For this latest round, I brought out a photo box with a internal LED light ring set to the brightest daylight light level. The coins are sitting on the white background of the box but raised up about halfway to minimize any zoom so it's all optical and not digital. There's a port on top of the box that looks through the light ring and I'm using an older smartphone with a pretty solid camera to grab the pics. From there, I'm using Paint.net to import, crop and resize the images. Also, my thanks to everyone for their thoughts on the grading. Based on the two examples I posted, I'm either at or one grade level above what everyone's suggesting so I'll try and play it a little more conservative going forward. |

look just like the 78S however I'm seeing some signs of circulation wear. AU58 slider maybe over dipped

Try taking a pic at each light level to see if one level is best. Do not change anything but the light level.Post the pics so we can see the differences please. John1 |

That's an interesting idea John1. I set things back up and took the exact same photo at 5 different levels... but it looks like my photo auto-corrected for the light levels. Still, here's the side-by-side:  |

Nicks here and there - 63 max. (Although I have seen some 64's graded that look like that) I agree. Doesn't look dipped at all to me. Looks like a haze or sheen sometimes seen on MS pieces. Bright, shining luster is often a sign a coin has been dipped. |

The 4th one looks a little better than the others to me. But something just doesn't look right to my eye. I hope some of the photo pros chime in. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post those added pics . It is nice to see a member make the effort. John1 |

AU58. Again, your original photos were better.
If this came back in a MS62 holder I'd understand.
