I was going through some "new" 1962 rolls and found this die clash. It looks like a leaf is growing out of the two.

Left is a hanging 2 (red), right is the "Leaf on the Two (green)" (a couple more die clashes below the hanging 2 (red)).

A keeper for sure!
I see double hanger clash, but I don't know what could account for the lower part of the "leaf".

My guess on the clashes are:

Blue is one clash
The die moved and there was another clash, the hanging one
The die moved again and there was a third clash below closing the "leaf". (not necessarily in that order)

I made the red line on the clash above and then copied and pasted it to the one below and it fits pretty close.

DBM,
Some examples in 1962 had "filling" in this area, the obverse working die that clashed with the reverse likely had filling right underneath the chin/neck and that is why it looks the way it does.

Not a definitive answer, but it is a likely one IMO.

Here are a couple that I found with filling in that area.

Maybe a combination of a clash and ghosting effect from die wear.
