The whole TPG thing is a Black Hole that the entire hobby has been sucked into with no hope of return.

I don't agree with au53 straight grade.

Without a doubt over dipped and cleaned.

I agree with NGC's previous grade. Now the real test is crossing it to PCGS...

I feel like recently I've seen a lot more over-grades coming out of NGC than PCGS or ANACS. Has anyone else noticed this?

NGC has been criminally overgrading coins more and more often. They have been more liberal lately and the lower returns by collectors reflect the collector base that recognize the inferior quality.

I actually had the opposite results . More straight graded pcgs coins lately though I have noticed both have been much tougher on Trade dollars
I'm not saying I thought this coin was going to straight grade but it is definitely a AU coin with good color that is not showing well in the pics.
My original hope was a Au details or was hoping XF 45 straight.
The odd thing is a very nice original 77cc came back cleaned. It has some rim bumps. That was my only concern on that one.
A few Trade dollars that looked good came back cleaned as well recently .
I did have a decent 1840 half I thought would grade XF-45 come back AU-50
Regardless this one will fit my set nicely .
